One of the simplest breakfasts I prepare is oatmeal with trail mix. I usually just make organic microwavable-style oats–my favorite is Nature’s Path Organic because there’s no sugar or salt added, and then I add almonds, dried cranberries, and cashews [you can buy the trail mix already prepared from Target’s Archer Farms line].
There’s no need to fuss with serving size because they come in pre-measured packets. I make my oatmeal with water, and if I’m craving something thicker, I stir in a dollop of plain greek yogurt.
The oats have great fiber, and the nuts will keep you full through the morning! The cranberries are a perfect natural sweetener.
