Maybe we favor simple people

because when we are pulled in,

we are fascinated

by the beauty of

their complexities.

Or vice versa? I recently found this thought in a notebook I kept in my senior year of college. Tucked into other random pages, I found a few film photographs I had taken,  half-written letters, classroom notes, and sketches.

On the last page of the bound pages is a note I wrote myself:

“This is my last moment as a college student in a college classroom right now. (heart sketch, heart sketch) Phelps 101”
