I wait for it every winter. The return of the beloved one-piece outfit. The easiest ensemble ever? Yes. Except when you live in Minnesota and have to layer with tights in April…Shopping and trips to the ladies room are sort of a nightmare, but for style’s sake.
Saturday I spent the morning in St. Paul with my girlfriends Bailey and Jamie. We attended an event called Lowertown Pop. Jamie and I were given tickets at the MN Blogger Bash we were invited to a couple weeks back, and I brought Bailey along with my extra ticket. It was the perfect opportunity for me to style and photograph Bailey, as well as for her to see into my world as a MN blogger. She works in the Ad Agency industry, so it was fun and beneficial for her as well! One of my favorite weekender styles is a pair of boyfriend jeans polished with a form fitting blazer. She rocked the look!
At the event, I networked my heart out amongst the productions of live television casts, radio personalities and a whole bunch of wonderful Minnesota Makers… I handed my photography and lifestyle blog cards out like crazy, and I did so with the intention of helping other small businesses and Minnesota Makers flourish. Sometimes they need a personality to get in front of an audience. I’ve already been connecting with some amazing designers, chefs, and all sorts of creatives with plans to collaborate. I can’t wait to share the products and stories of these small businesses with all of you!
One of my most favorite finds at both the @MNBloggerBash and @LowertownPop was stormsister spatique. In this post, I’m wearing the “Katie” lipstick. With its hand poured decadence, smooth finish and lasting color, I know it’s going to be my new go to. The products are local, vegan and gluten free. Becky does a wonderful job!
stormsisters includes 19 shades that reflect each of the sisters for whom the lipsticks are named. These sisters, some related by birth, all by beauty, have been extraordinarily influential to the StormSister Spatique® brand. Shades range from natural nude to shocking pink, and everything in between.
I’ve always believed that lipstick is an accessory. Rather than following archaic rules of color-matching our skin tone or our hair color, women should wear colors that are fun and what we as individuals find beautiful.
